Graduated from the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the University of Lisbon (FMDUL) in 1989, with clinical practice exclusively in Paediatric Dentistry. He was a monitor of the Paediatric Dentistry chair at FMDUL in 1989. In 1993, he completed his Master's and Speciality in Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Minnesota, USA. He was an assistant professor in the Department of Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Minnesota School of Dental Medicine from 1991 to 1993 and a visiting professor in the Paediatric Dentistry department at FMDUL from 1996 to 2006. He has been a specialist in Paediatric Dentistry enrolled in the Portuguese Dental Association since its creation in 2017.

Graduated in Dental Medicine from the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde - Sul (ISCS-SUL) in 1995. In 2001, he completed a Postgraduate course and obtained the title of specialist in Orthodontics at the University of Aarhus, Denmark. Also in 2001, he completed his Master of Science at the University of Aarhus, Denmark. In 2002, he became a member of the Orthodontics Speciality College of the Portuguese Dental Association. In 2008, he completed a Postgraduate course in Lingual Orthodontics at the University of Paris V, France. Between 2008 and 2011, he was a lecturer in the Postgraduate course in Lingual Orthodontics at the same university. In 2013, he completed his Master's degree in Lingual Orthodontics at the University of Hannover, Germany. He has been certified by Invisalign since 2008. He is a Diamond Invisalign Provider, Invisalign Teen Provider and Member of the Invisalign European Advisory Board. In 2014, he completed his Master's degree in Invisalign in Malaga, Spain. He was a Clinical Speaker at the Aligner Institute. He has been exclusively practising Orthodontics since 2001.

He completed his Master's degree in Cariology in Operative Dentistry at FMDUL, where he was a guest assistant in the subject of Operative Dentistry for 36 years.

Integrated Master's degree in Dental Medicine at the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde - Egas Moniz in 2008, with clinical practice exclusively in Aesthetics and Oral Rehabilitation. He completed an Advanced Master's degree in Aesthetics and Oral Rehabilitation at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Barcelona), between 2012 and 2013. He is a guest assistant in the subject of Conservative Dentistry - Dentistry, at the Instituto Universitário Egas Moniz, and a guest professor of the Master's degree in Aesthetics and Oral Rehabilitation at the Universidade Fernando Pessoa/Porto Dental Institute.

Integrated Master's degree in Dental Medicine at the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde - Egas Moniz in 2012, with clinical practice exclusively in Oral Surgery, Implantology and Periodontology. He completed a Postgraduate course in Periodontology at the same institute, between 2012 and 2013, and a Specialisation in Oral Implantology at the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Lisbon, between 2016 and 2019. He was a guest monitor of the subject of Conservative Dental Medicine - Dentistry, at the Instituto Universitário Egas Moniz, between 2012 and 2015.

Between 1991 and 2004, he was a guest assistant of the subject of Operative Dentistry at FMDUL. He obtained the certificate in “Conscious Sedation with Nitrous Oxide” from the Faculty of Dentistry - Complutense University of Madrid.

Integrated Master's degree in Dental Medicine at the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde - Egas Moniz in 2001, with clinical practice exclusively in Aesthetics and Oral Rehabilitation. In 2002, he completed a Postgraduate course in Endodontics at the International University of Catalonia (Barcelona) and, in 2004, a Master's degree in Endodontics at the same institution. He is a member of the Portuguese Society of Endodontics, a certified member of the European Society of Endodontics and a member of the American Association of Endodontists.

Integrated Master's degree in Dental Medicine from the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Egas Moniz (ISCSEM) in 2013, with clinical practice exclusively in Orthodontics at Spot Clinic. In 2018, she completed the Roth-Williams FACE Evolution System Modular Course and, between 2018 and 2020, she completed a Postgraduate course in Clinical Orthodontics.

Integrated Master's degree in Dental Medicine at the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde - Egas Moniz in 2012, with clinical practice exclusively in Aesthetics and Oral Rehabilitation. He completed the Postgraduate course in Aesthetics and Oral Rehabilitation, at Porto Dental Institute, in 2016.
